Ohio weather is unpredictable, and Beavercreek is no stranger to storms that leave real damage behind. Roof shingles crack or go missing. Water works its way inside through compromised openings. Siding splits or tears away entirely. The longer these issues sit unaddressed, the more costly repairs become.

What Storm Damage Restoration Covers

Storm damage restoration covers every part of your home affected by severe weather, including roof repair or replacement, water extraction, structural repairs, siding replacement, window repair, gutter repair, and interior work like drywall and flooring. Greater Dayton Insurance Restoration handles all of it under one roof.

Common storm-related repairs include:

  • Roof damage from hail, high winds, or fallen tree limbs.
  • Water intrusion through damaged roofing, windows, or siding.
  • Structural issues caused by debris impact or prolonged moisture exposure.
  • Siding that has cracked, dented, or pulled away from the home.
  • Gutter damage that may redirect water toward your foundation.

How Does the Restoration Process Work?

Greater Dayton Insurance Restoration assigns a dedicated Project Manager to guide Beavercreek homeowners through every phase.

  1. Emergency Response: The team secures your property quickly to stop secondary damage from spreading.
  2. Damage Assessment: A thorough inspection documents all storm-related damage to support your insurance claim.
  3. Estimate Delivery: A detailed estimate is typically delivered within 72 hours of the initial assessment.
  4. Restoration and Reconstruction: All approved repairs are completed using quality materials by a coordinated team.
  5. Final Walkthrough: Your Project Manager reviews a close-out packet with you before the project closes.

The team works directly with insurance adjusters throughout, keeping your claim moving and reducing stress.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We work for you! You are the customer. We are committed to restoring your home and returning it to its pre-loss condition — while making the process as seamless as possible.

Your Project Manager will be your primary point of contact throughout the restoration of your home. You can contact your Project Manager by phone, email, or text. They will review the best way to communicate with you during your project.

Your Project Manager is responsible for selecting and coordinating all workers assigned to your project. They will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the different phases and schedules for your project.

An insurance deductible is the homeowner’s financial responsibility for repair costs. Deductibles are normally collected by your Estimator at the time of contract signing. However, depending on the insurance carrier, situations may vary.

You, the homeowner. However, your insurance provider will cover any additional utility charges incurred from the project. For example: if your electric bill is typically $60.00 per month and during your project it increases to $100.00, you are responsible for the “typical” $60.00 and insurance will pay the additional $40.00.

You are a very important part of the restoration process. During the restoration process, you have two very important functions: communication and product selections. Communication is a very important part of your project.

Communication can reduce any stress you may feel and also help eliminate any delays or possible errors. Product selections, or the specifications for your project, are also a very important part of the restoration process. These selections can often have long lead times, which can adversely affect the length of your project. The sooner these items are selected, the more efficiently your restoration project will progress and the better opportunity we will have to deliver your home per the agreed schedule.

A timeline schedule is an outline specific to each restoration. Its purpose is to track and maintain each phase of your project and the overall progress. You will be provided a timeline schedule for your project by your Project Manager shortly after your pre-construction meeting. This timeline schedule will serve as an “at a glance” tool to monitor the completion of specific tasks throughout the construction process.

Work revisions, material upgrades, or changes to the original specifications / selections are called Change Orders. Your Project Manager will provide you with an estimate of the requested changes and the impact to the schedule. Once the Change Order is approved, and the costs for the changes are received, the work will be completed.

While every attempt will be made to complete your project on time, there are several things that can negatively impact the provided timeline sched-ule. A few of the most common reasons are:

  •   Weather – The weather will have a definitive impact on all exterior phases of the construction process.
  •   Material Availability – Some material items take longer to be delivered than others. Customer selections and determining the project specifications as soon as possible will help minimize delays.
  •   Inspections – On occasion, your repairs will require inspections by the local municipality, and we have limited control over their schedules.
  •   Change Orders – Any alterations to the original specifications may require us to stop construction to approve a change order. One small change can affect multiple trades and ultimately the schedule.
  •   Supplements – Supplement is the insurance industry’s word for Change Order. If supplements arise due to unforeseen conditions, they could also impact the schedule.

Your safety is very important to us. We suggest that you schedule a weekly meeting with your Project Manager. They can walk you through your home and answer any questions you might have regarding the construction process.

Once the restoration process is complete, your Project Manager will schedule a meeting with you to review a “close-out” packet and obtain a certificate of completion. The close-out packet includes items such as product manuals, service agree-ments, product warranties and our material and workmanship warranty information. Once you have reviewed the closeout documents, we will need a signed certificate of completion for the insurance company and to close the construction process.

Call the Emergency Responce Team (ERT) for items that need immediate attention (i.e. roof leaks or water leaks). For other items covered by our warranty but do not need immediate attention, please call your Project Manager to schedule a visit to review the items. If your Project Manager is not available, please contact our Main Office at 937-426-3577.
